‘Guardians of the Galaxy:’ Most complete MCU franchise

At some point in our lives, we all experience moments of brokenness or incompleteness, where we feel lost or unsure of our place in the world. However, it is through the connections we form with others that we find the strength and support to become whole again. By lifting each other up, they can overcome their fears and reach new heights, enabling each member to fulfill their potential. These bonds of vulnerability, shared aspirations, and emotions are the foundation of a family.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is a heartwarming tribute to a group of misfits and outcasts who come together as a family despite their differences. Despite being outlaws and considered criminals by intergalactic law, Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Starlord (Chris Pratt), and the rest of the gang discover their purpose and value as they band together to protect the people and planets of their universe. In this highly anticipated final installment, the focus is on Rocket and his struggle to save his own life from the clutches of the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji), an egotistical madman who seeks to manipulate and control entire animal species to create his "new and improved colony." With the fate of the galaxy at stake, the Guardians must once again rise to the occasion and fight for their family.

James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" brings back a secret ingredient that was missing from the Marvel Cinematic Universe since "Avengers: Endgame" in 2019. The movie strikes a perfect balance between soft, thrilling, and humorous elements, creating an unforgettable cinematic experience. By delving deep into the backstories and aspirations of each Guardian, James Gunn expands the "Guardians of the Galaxy" franchise beyond the confines of a typical superhero film. The characters' arcs are interwoven so seamlessly that each Guardian achieves what they were missing, such as Nebula accepting herself, Rocket stepping up as a leader, and Drax embracing his role as a loving father. The movie's ending emphasizes the importance of enjoying the journey with loved ones, guiding them towards their values, and trusting that their destiny will be fulfilled in due time. The trilogy's dots are connected so flawlessly that audiences are left with a satisfying conclusion, a reminder that it's not just about the end goal but also the journey.

Rocket's character arc in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is nothing short of exceptional. Through a series of powerful flashbacks and courageous actions, he undergoes a transformation that makes him one of the most compelling characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of the franchise will undoubtedly be moved by his story, as it ties together loose ends and adds new depth to the character. The simplicity of the technique used to convey Rocket's story is a testament to the film's masterful storytelling. It begins by building his expectations of an ideal world, highlighting his innocence, and then shattering his beliefs. Finally, he overcomes his fears and leaves his past behind, emerging as a new and improved version of himself. As the main protagonist, Rocket provides a unique perspective on the wicked ideals and hatred that exist in the world. His rival, the High Evolutionary, holds the opposite view, despite reaching the status of a god and creator. This makes for a perfect foil, with both characters embodying vastly different ideologies.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" is a fitting tribute to the beloved trilogy, filled with heart and humor that leaves audiences satisfied. It is one of the few Marvel Cinematic Universe films that has fans cherishing what they have seen, instead of constantly looking towards the future and post-credit scenes. James Gunn's creative storytelling is nothing short of masterful, as he weaves together multiple character arcs to deliver a powerful and emotionally resonant conclusion to the Guardians' journey. The film's stunning visuals, exhilarating action sequences, and heartwarming moments make it a cinematic experience that will be remembered for years to come. As Gunn moves on to his new gig at DC Studios, I cannot wait to see what he will bring to the table.
